Something that can make a special occasion memorable is a carefully planned full dinner menu afterwards. Food is something that everyone enjoys. It can add something unique whether you are celebrating an anniversary, birthday or distinctive accomplishment. You need to choose the meals carefully. A few recipes will allow you to make a memorable dinner with an appetiser, entree and dessert course for any special occasion.

Pear and Walnut Salad with Vinaigrette

Start the appetiser by putting a good amount of mixed greens in the bottom of a bowl. Cut two to three ripe pears in half and make thin slices to put in the salad. Toast some walnuts in the oven and add them to the top of the salad. Mix a vinaigrette by combining around 150 ml of beer with 120 ml each of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and basic chicken stock. Add a small amount of honey, salt, pepper and garlic to taste to finish the salad.

Lamb Lagoto

Start the main entree with around 2 kg of lamb taken off the bone and diced into bite sized pieces. Cook the lamb in a pan with some oil in the bottom until each piece is browned all over. You now want to add six coarsely chopped plum tomatoes, a tablespoon of tomato puree and a little oregano, mint and diced garlic to taste. Let the mixture cook for a minute. Add a good amount of freshly ground black pepper and salt. Pour water in the pan until it just barely covers everything. Simmer the water for around two hours. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the lamb just before serving. This hearty meal can be served in a bowl with garlic crostini or chips.

Bananas in Caramel Sauce

A nice way to end a special meal is with bananas in caramel sauce. Start by melting 113 grams of butter in a saucepan on moderate heat. Add in 128 grams of sugar and mix constantly until fully incorporated. Brown the mixture just a little bit for flavor. Mix in 300 ml of heavy cream and reduce the sauce. Stir in four ripe bananas cut into bite sized pieces and allow them to cook for around two minutes. Serve the dish hot right after the entree.

Drinks for the Entree

Two options are really the best when it comes to pairing this dinner menu with drinks. The first is red wine. A pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon or a Chianti are all good choices. They have the depth to add something to each course while also providing a pleasing taste. Red wines will go with every course. Alternately, you could use a pale ale. This type of beerwill leave a refreshing taste in the mouth while subtly complementing each course. You could also offer both types of drinks at different times during dinner.

An elegant dinner with multiple courses can really show that you think someone else is special. Preparing the meal is not as difficult as many people think. These simple recipes will impress your friends or family members while also providing a satisfying meal everyone will enjoy.
